Frequently Asked Questions

Things People Usually Ask Us.

How far ahead do I need to book?
We ask for at least 4 to 6 weeks. Getting custom costumes designed and sorted for every guest, scripting the characters, planning the menu, briefing the DJ and coordinating the venue all take real time. The earlier you reach out the more we can personalise the whole experience for you. WhatsApp us as soon as you have a date in mind.
Can adults and children be at the same event?
Yes, and it is honestly one of our favourite formats. Adults do the murder mystery inside while the children have their own supervised evening outside with motorised rides, snacks and their own junior detective mystery. When the case is solved everyone meets outside for the cinema. Both groups have an incredible night and it all happens at the same time.
What themes do you offer?
We have five fully written original Jamaican stories spanning 1968 to 2003, from garrison politics and dancehall to recording studios and luxury villas. We can also write a fully custom mystery around whatever theme you have in mind: 1920s Jazz Age, Victorian England, Caribbean Colonial, spy thriller, Hollywood Golden Age, anything. Just tell us what you are imagining.
Do you sort the venue or do I need one?
Either works. We can come to your home, villa or an event space you have already booked, or we can help you find somewhere and coordinate everything. Whichever way you go, we handle the full setup, décor, lighting and logistics from start to finish.
What is actually included?
A full Di Nex murder mystery night includes a custom costume for every guest, character cards and briefings, digital props and an evidence pack, the full mystery script, a professional game master, a house DJ, finger food reception, a private chef dinner, outdoor silent cinema with 30 wireless headphones, popcorn and snacks, and a goodie bag for every guest on the way out. For combined events we add kids' motorised rides. Mystery Squad Academy and mobile spa are available as add-ons.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. We have a full Junior Detectives Night package built specifically for kids, with age-appropriate scripts, fun characters and child-friendly costumes. Children absolutely love the mystery format and we present it in a way that is exciting and not frightening. For combined events the children's mystery runs at the same time as the adult game in a fully supervised outdoor area.
What if I want to run it myself?
The game kit has everything you need: all the character scripts and briefings, digital props ready for phones, a complete host guide that walks you through the whole night, and the sealed solution envelope. Game I for adults and Game 1 for kids are both free. Games II through V for adults run from US$25 to US$33.28. If you would rather have someone run it for you, you can add our Game Master separately.
